Yes, Timerider was a movie. But it was also the name of Nez' off-road racing team in the 80's. Did you know Nez raced cars? He did. He raced and won the Baja 500 and 1000 among others. The Timerider Racing crew wore these t-shirts in the pits during the races. Recently, we Ranch Hands found a small stash of them in our warehouse and started wearing them. We thought they were so cool that we should start making them again. They're Quality Hanes Beefy-Ts and we've got them in Small, Medium, Large and Extra-Large. The long-sleeved ones have the Timerider logo written down the left arm and along the back. We also have these available with short-sleeves.

We get compliments on these T-shirts from people who don't even know what Timerider is.

Nez has said that a well-designed T-shirt is a piece of wearable pop art. The Videoranch T-Shirt certainly fits that description. There's no web address on it, no advertising. Just the cool Randy South designed Rocket TV on the front and a detail of the TV's grill on the back.

Rio Records was established by Nez on June 15, 1994, to distribute ideas. That is why the logo is moonlight through the palm trees, over rippling waters. It is navigating to music and what one might find in that direction of thought: the lost continents, the invisible cities, the spiritual sky, the interior of planets. One of the label's first releases was The Garden on CD-ROM. Since 1994, many of Nez's works have been released through Rio -- including the Infinitia box set and Live at the Britt Festival DVD and CD.

When the idea to revive the First National Band first popped up, the prospect of filling Red Rhodes's musical shoes seemed gigantic. Pete Finney was Nez's first call.

Nez's new favorite jacket! He calls it a Varsity Jacket, so we do, too, because he's the boss -- not to mention, he's the eponymous Papa Nes.

This black Hanes Heavyweight zip-front hooded sweatshirt features Johnny Ware’s original First National Band drumhead design emblazoned on its back. We used an age-resistant technique to create the logo: it removes the dye from the fabric so the design will never fade.

After many requests we've made some Videoranch baseball caps! The black and/or white hats are made of 100% brushed cotton. The Videoranch Rocket TV is embroidered on the front and videoranch.com is embroidered on the back.

If you're going to disseminate useful ideas, what would that idea be? Peace. In 1974, Nez founded Pacific Arts. It was to be the company that purveyed the arts of pacification.

This replica hat is based on one that Nez designed in the 1970s. Nez approved us to create a new run to share Pacific Arts' purpose with new generations.

This meta-hat is the closest we could get to giving every Nezhead a Nudie hat to wear. The embroidered circular emblem takes inspiration from the iconic First National Band album covers. We chose Nez's Nudie hat to represent the First National Band Redux within the albums' golden frame. Nez says the Nudie hat's embroidered image emerges into consciousness -- just like First National Band's music -- and in that way is a perfect aesthetic representation of the band. While explaining the metaphysics of First National Band, Nez referenced how the high art of Nudie suits is often overlooked in the same way -- and for much the same reasons -- as the beauty of the banjo or pedal steel guitar are dismissed. This year marks half a century since Michael Nesmith released his first two groundbreaking albums with the First National Band. Magnetic South and Loose Salute arrived in record stores in 1970; Nevada Fighter came shortly after in 1971. The albums further introduced the country rock sound that Nesmith began experimenting with while still on The Monkees.

The First National Band dug up its roots in Texas and the South then replanted them in California's psychedelic mindscapes. Nez's poetry, melodies, and old fashioned yodel -- combined with Red Rhodes's celestial, psychedelic pedal steel guitar -- create a cowboy band unlike any other.

These three bandanas honor the original First National Band -- Michael Nesmith, Red Rhodes, John Kuehne, and John Ware -- and the trilogy that has become their legacy.

Charles Marion Russell painted this in 1925. The original hangs at the Montana Historical Society in Helena Montana. Nez saw it and was so taken by the spirit it expressed, he wrote the song Laugh Kills Lonesome, naming it after the picture. It's the second track on "...tropical campfire's..." He's got one of these posters hung up in the Videoranch main house as a reminder to tell himself at least one joke a day he's never heard before.

Mollie Kiely has done it again! This beautiful silk screened poster was drawn specially for Nez's October 2019 tour and features Nez as we know him now with the First National Band Redux.

The official 8x10 First National Band Redux Tour poster features Nez in his Nudie suit looking up at the First National Band logo. His Nudie suit was the mascot for the January tour. Nez explained that the suit represented much of what he wanted to achieve through the art of First National Band. Nudie celebrates the high art element of Americana culture that Nez also finds in bluegrass and country music. The American flag theme is an effort to reclaim patriotism from conservative reaction. Similarly, Nez hoped to reclaim country and bluegrass styles by combining them with psychedelia -- pulling them further into that high space.

To celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Elephant Parts, Videoranch is excited to offer for the first time an 18 x 24 poster print of the original artwork! Signed by Michael Nesmith.

When it came time to take the First National Band Redux back out on the road this past fall, we asked artist Mollie Kiely (who had created a fantastic poster for Nez's 2011 Marfa, Texas performance with The Watkins Family Hour) to come up with a piece capturing the spirit of the First National Band's resurgence in its latest iteration.

Thrilled with the final design, we decided to print a limited run of 150 screened 11” x 17” one-color posters. The merch table sold out of the ones made available rather quickly, and after doing so, we heard from many fans expressing disappointment that they could not get one themselves.

As the first run was limited, we've decided to print a commemorative version of an alternate, earlier artist draft. It features screened four color spot-printing and heavier, dimmer paper stock than the road poster, lending a certain timelessness to the artwork.

Each of these posters arrives signed by Nez using archival quality ink and they look great framed. The perfect gift for fans in attendance at any of the unforgettable performances. The item ships flat and may require separate packaging. Personalization is not available for this item.

The new Framed Nez Autograph is now offered in a custom frame made by Nambe Ware especially for Videoranch. The base of the frame is made from the beautiful Nambe alloy, with Videoranch engraved across it. Nez signs in archival ink on a Crane stationary card. The card floats between 2 pieces of glass which are held together at the top with a crescent shaped piece of Nambe ware. A must-have for any serious Nez collector. The Some of Shelly's Blues Lithograph Print uses the song's lyrics to create the image of Michael Nesmith from the cover of Pretty Much Your Standard Ranch Stash.

Nez recorded Pretty Much Your Standard Ranch Stash with the Countryside Records band in 1973. The album finished out of his contract with RCA, and the following year he used his new independence to found Pacific Arts.

The only known surviving photos of Michael Nesmith and The First National Band's first appearance at the Troubadour in 1970 were taken by Nurit Wilde. With Nurit's permission, we are sharing our favorite shot with you -- a smiling Nez in his cactus Nudie shirt!

This exclusive limited edition 8x10 print signed by Michael Nesmith commemorates the anniversary of his final performance as a Monkee at The Hollywood Pantages Theatre on September 16, 2016. The previously unreleased photograph captures Nez with his pink carnation and iconic 12-string blonde Gretsch guitar.

Nez's farewell concert fittingly took place in The Monkees' hometown during the week of the 50th anniversary of The Monkees' broadcast debut. Each of the 100 available prints will be signed by Nez as "50th 9.16.2016 Michael Nesmith"; unfortunately this product cannot be personalized. This signed print gives Monkees and Nez fans a unique remembrance of the finale of one aspect of his career.

To commemorate his event at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, we decided to print this new 8x10: Michael Nesmith posing with his GRAMMY Award for Elephant Parts at the 24th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

We think Harmony Constant is Nez's ultimate Valentine. It is a song for God, perfect Love. The song's inspiring lyrics remind us that His love is the same love we have for everyone. God's Love is our Harmony Constant.
