It slices, it dices, it trashes the album. But it's funny.

Now, you know Nez is sometimes a little loopy, right? This commercial was Nez at his loopiest, and no, not because of the content of the commercial, which you gotta admit is outside funny. No, it was some goofy strategy Nez came up with to get noticed by the Saturday Night Live audience. At the time this was released SNL was at their manic height and was the only game in town. Would they let Nez come and play? Not on your life. So he comes up with this idea that he would just buy air time and advertise his new LP. What he didn't realize was that the commercial he came up with looked like a SNL parody-put down. So instead of Nez getting credit for being funny and self-depricating, it looks like he's the object of the mega hip SNL crowd's joke. Instead of calls for the album, Nez's hip factor sank to the bottom of the pond. Way to go Nez. Good thing he doesn't like this LP. He didn't help it all.

Truth be told, this is a good album, and an important one, with fine players on a fine night. The Ranch hands think time will prove this one out.
